Assistant Controller

Position Summary Under the direction of the Corporate Controller, the Assistant Controller is responsible for the overall supervision and management of the accounting department while acting as a support function for the Chief Financial Officer. Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities Review and examine departmental work for accuracy, errors and adjustments Compile reports from subordinates as required by management, auditors or government agencies Analyze and streamline departmental procedures to improve employee productivity and efficiency Researches and responds to vendor questions and inquiries Communicate and correspond with internal and external auditors as needed Perform and manage special projects as assigned Assists with oversight of budget process Analyze company monthly financials Ensures timely completion of monthly, quarterly and annual cost processes Reviews account reconciliations and ensures compliance with US GAAP and company policies and procedures Mentors and develop subordinates to promote best practices and career development Identifies potential auditrisks and proposes preventive and corrective actions Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills both orally and in writing Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines in a high-volume work environment Must be highly attentive to details in all aspects of the job Must possess excellent recordkeeping skills and be highly detail oriented and organized Ability to problem solve and be innovative with solutions Ability to perform simple to complex mathematical calculations Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize, organize and delegate work Ability to work independently and within a team environment with little or no supervision Ability to work and interact with individuals at all levels of the organization Must possess a high level of analytical skills Travel   Minimal travelrequired  Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting 5 plus years of relevant work experience; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience; prior management experience Experience in manufacturing preferred Preferred CPA certification or MBA Physical demands and work environment The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here represents those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this job.   Working Environment  This job operates in a professional office environment with open work areas. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
