Lead School Nurse

SECONDARY SCHOOL LEAD NURSE (12 month position)Windermere Preparatory School is located on a beautiful 48-acre campus in Southwest Orange County.
Windermere Preparatory School's academic approach is built on complex problem solving and critical thinking, emphasizes intellectual, personal, emotional and social growth, and culminates with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.
We are currently seeking an Upper/Middle School Nurse who will act as a leader in the school community and promote school health policies and programs.
The successful candidate will provide expertise and support of school health services and to promote health education.
Using their clinical knowledge and judgment, school nurses routinely perform the following duties:
Provide healthcare to students and staff Deliver healthcare education sessions to students Perform health screenings Coordinate referrals to private healthcare providers Serve as liaison between school personnel, family, and community healthcare providers to ensure a healthy school environment Job
Responsibilities:
Develop plans for student care based on assessment, interventions, and identification of outcomes, and the evaluation of care; Serve as a consultant with other school professionals, such as food service personnel, physical education teachers, coaches, and counselors; Provide health-related education to students, staff and parents in both individual and group settings; Communicate with Residence Life Managers regarding boarding students medical follow up; Monitor immunizations, manage communicable diseases, and assess the school environment to prevent injury and ensure safety; Maintain good connections with healthcare partners to hold good relationships.
Oversee infection control measures; Actively participate in school safety plans that address school violence, bullying, and emergencies that may occur at school; Oversee medication administration, health care procedures, and the development of healthcare plans; Oversee vision, hearing, body mass index, and mental health screening procedures; Manage students with chronic health conditions and disabilities; Make decisions related to the delegation of healthcare tasks as directed by state laws and professional practice guidance; Manager other Division Nurses and partner with Division Directors; Policy review and documentation Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
BSN required and Current FL RN license.
Current CPR and First Aid Certification.

years experience required, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
Ability to work occasional flexible hours & travel on school field trips when needed.
Ability to assess situations and act quickly.
Communicate appropriately, collaboratively, and effectively with students, parents, administrators, other school personnel, health care providers, and community agencies.
Demonstrate a genuine interest and care in the student population and its health needs.
Organize a health office and manage time.
Be a self-starter and self-motivated.
Proficiency with computers, preferably with Google Suite platform.
This is a 12-month position Recommended Skills Cpr Clinical Works Evaluation Of Care First Aid And Preparedness Google Suite Health Education Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
